Guest neil smith
Evening all, Decided it was time to contact agent today as am getting inpatient waiting for this inconsiderate case officer (i'm sure they can feel the stress and anxiety we are going through waiting for them to get in touch) We had our application acknowledged 17th Feb 2007 at which time our agent told us we should have visa in passport by Aug 2007, But today he has told me that we might not even hear from our case officer until OCTOBER 2007!!!! as this new law coming in Setember has made an even bigger back logg, but surely if our visa was acknowledged in February it should not get caught up too much??? and if it goes on too long will this new law affect our points or will we be ok as application was in well before new law?? Anybody had their application acknowleged around same time as us and heard from case officer???? We are not planning on moving untill June 2008 but am sure you all understand we just want the next stage confirmed. Ours is a 136 Skilled independant. Cheers Neil:skeptical: Hi Neil, that is slow because you had your acknowledgement 5 weeks before us,and we've had the visa nearly five weeks, from what we understand any changes won't effect you because you have already sent in your application, and they have acknowledged it,good luck. Guest Lynn72
Hi Neil, I did the same thing this morning and have had an e-mail back from my agent saying that Adelaide are really far behind receipting the applications but that they had received ours. So we still don't have an acknowledgement letter or a case officer. I wish they'd hurry up with some news!!! :arghh:Lynn
becky c
Hi Neil and Kate, We've applied for the same visa as you at the end of March, our agent got our reference number last week. I asked him when we would get a case officer, he thinks it will be in the next 4 to 8 weeks. So if he's right, we shouldn't be waiting too much longer, fingers crossed for us all...... Guest Ian&Lou
It's seems unfair that some people get theirs so much earlier just by, it would seem, luck of the draw. Hopefully this new system will get sorted and we will all start to hear things soon. As I understand it, as long as your visa app is lodged before September then it will not be subject to the new rules. Fingers crossed for everyone...especially you Neil as you have been waiting a very long time! Lou
Guest neil smith
Now you have made me even more depressed, what visa did you get? Do you think it would do me any good if I was to phone the immigration in Aus? if so where would I get a phone number from?? Cheers Hi Neil, that is slow because you had your acknowledgement 5 weeks before us,and we've had the visa nearly five weeks, from what we understand any changes won't effect you because you have already sent in your application, and they have acknowledged it,good luck. Best regards.
